This month is the first that the homeschoolers of Rivers of Living Water Church of God have gotten together for some fun, recreational time. This month we dedicated our event to filling four shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child.
We spent precious time talking about how we can make a difference in lives across the world. I shared the scripture in Mark 16:15 that states "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to everyone." and we talked about how our job as Christians is not to keep Jesus all to our selves but to share Him and His amazing love. Well how do we do that, they asked? One person at a time. If I tell ONE person about the love of Jesus and that ONE person tells ONE person about the love of Jesus and so on and so forth...look what's happening!!! We are sharing Jesus with the world, one person at a time.
We joined hands as we talked about this concept and realized that the first person in line never had contact with the last person in line but all because of how they FIRST shared, the person at the end of the line was reached! We began to understand that though we may not have the opportunity to travel the world and "preach the gospel to everyone" we can still touch lives by sharing Jesus with any and all we come in contact with. We also talked about how programs like Operation Christmas Child help us by joining hands with us and connecting us with less fortunate little boys and little girls. What a truly wonderful time we had. I was inspired and uplifted, changed.
We filled our two hours together with packing shoe boxes, lots of good food and even an adorable little turkey craft. I can't wait until next month's get together.
