Nana Cathi

Driving home from Connecticut, we were so blessed to have the chance to stop half way in Washington D.C. to meet and spend time with Nana Cathi for the very first time. She took the whole day off to be with us. What a blessing day it was. 

We spent the morning at an awesome park right down the road from her house. 

The kiddos had such a great time. What a playspace. Gabriella guided her sweet little brother through the entire maze area. There was something exciting waiting for them at every turn they made. 

I love these next two pictures. The "Ooo" expression on her face in the first picture followed by the "Ooo" on his face in the second picture. 

Gabriella went up and down this ramp with each of her hands gliding across the tops of the handrails singing the song from Frozen. 

Josiah was quite the independent one. 

It's somewhat exhilarating as a parent to stand back and watch our little ones build the courage to take daring chances. It's terrifying but exhilarating all at the same time. 

And 99% of the time, the courage they muster to attempt the task seems to see them through. 

After park time and lunch, Nana Cathi took us down to the River and we walked a mile and a half of the three mile run she frequently runs. What a beautiful, beautiful sight.

There is something about holding the hand of a toddler. Someone so little yet so big, with independence enough to stroll along with his hand in mine. It is to be treasured. 

We spent the rest of our evening at Nana Cathi's cooking dinner together, watching movies and coloring. 

Arroz con pollo, tostones and salad. Yum!

We were so happy that Christina could join us. Sad that Eric couldn't be there but so happy we could spend some time with his other half. :)

One last picture before before we hit the road for our six hour trip home. This picture is a keeper, I love it.
